As an LHSI intern you have the opportunity to work and learn valuable laboratory and research skills without leaving campus. You can explore a career, experience and become more involved in your field of interest, and get ideas for a senior project, thesis, or capstone required by some majors. You will also make valuable connections with faculty and staff and may have the opportunity to ask for a reference or letter of recommendation.

• IUPUI undergraduate working toward first Bachelor's degree
• Must be enrolled full time as a sophomore or junior during internship period
• Must have completed at least one semester at IUPUI prior to applying
• Minimum overall GPA of 2.5 and major GPA of 3.0 and remain in good academic standing during internship
• Additional skills, if required, will be specified in each project description
• Related major or relevant coursework for employment or graduate study in the life-health sciences - in most cases, at least a few science courses 
• Interest in the work of the chosen internship

The internship experiences are as diverse as the locations in which they are offered. Examples include research, clinical work, shadowing, and other professional experiences. Upcoming projects are listed on the Apply for LHSI page when applications are available. Previous intern poster descriptions can be found on the poster session page and offer excellent insight into the types of projects former interns have been involved with.
